HungryLTR here!! After hearing about Dos Toros from a couple of blogs, HTG and I had put it on our list of places to try. So a couple of Saturdays ago, we made our first visit for lunch (I’m predicting that this visit was one of many in the future). HTG scored a table while I waited in the pretty long line of people waiting to order. The ordering process is pretty much the same as other fast service joints like Chipotle and Qdoba. You watch your burrito/taco/quesadilla/plato being made right in front of you while you have your choice of toppings.
HTG went for the carnitas plato while I chose the carne asada burrito (both with black beans and hot salsa and cheese). The burrito was sooper tasty and filling. The steak was tender and well seasoned. Everything tasted fresh and I’ll definitely be back again. In my opinion, this place was one of the best burritos I’ve had in nyc. I also had a taste of HTG’s carnitas – yummm! But I’ll let her tell you about that!
Hello! It’s HTG here. I ordered the carnitas platter because I instead of having a burrito, I wanted to carb it up with some chips and salsa. The carnitas were very juicy and flavorful. The pork almost melted in my mouth. It came with guacamole and pico de gallo. Lynne even had them put some hot sauce on it. For $7.35, I am definitely down to have some organic Californian Mexican food. The chips were a bit salty, which is just the way I like them. All in all, the portions were very generous. I honestly was expecting tiny portions because it’s all healthy/organic, but I was pleasantly surprised. I am definitely going back!
